re. Margaret Thatcher

No matter what your opinion, it has nothing to do with the words that she says regarding the meaning I, as an individual, find behind them.

There is a nonsense about intelligent women not being beautiful. There is no genetic link between brains and beauty. Most women are far more intelligent than people give them credit for.

I don’t know — maybe the world has two different kinds of people, and for one kind the world is this completely logical, rice pudding place, and for the other it’s all hit-or-miss macaroni gratin.

That quote you posted? Margaret Thatcher was a terrible leader, but it's especially essential to point out that the quote is total bullshit. It erases the experiences of anyone who identifies as a woman who doesn't fit strictly within the binary of 'male' and 'female'. Does this mean that women with masculine features aren't women if people can't make a cut-and-dry judgement? What about trans/intersex people? Your blog is a widely-followed one; please don't spread things that are so damaging.

That’s not what it means at all. It means that you don’t need to boast on something, or tell people something so that they treat you a certain way. It means that if you are going around to people and telling them that you are powerful, or ladylike, then your words are trying to justify your actions instead of just letting the actions define yourself in other’s eyes.

It’s not about gender or sex. It’s about actions speak louder than words.

I appreciate the concern, but its my blog, I think that posting what I want because of how I appreciate it is how I have gotten it to be so well and “widely-followed”.

Being powerful is like being a lady. If you have to tell people you are, you aren’t
