I relate to the cool sophistication of Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy and the bold elegance of Nan Kempner. They fall on two sides of the style spectrum but neither was ever boring. My style is constantly evolving. I grew up in Greenwich, Connecticut, in the ’80s, so preppy is very much a part of my DNA—and I fall back on this aesthetic more often than not. In my everyday life there are lots of loafers, crewneck sweaters, and bows. I love a bow. Oh, and pearls, of course. But for night, I really experiment. I do love to dress up!

The sign of intelligence is that you are constantly wondering. Idiots are always dead sure about every damn thing they are doing in their life.

You’re going to discover that conversations are best at 4 am. The heavier the eyelids, the sincerer the words. Those are the talks you’ll remember. It’s ok not to know the answer and silence is not awkward. It’s shared, so share it more often than not.
