“Quality through simplicity.”

Through one of my tumblr friends, Bo of Notentirelyunliketea, I have been introduced to this beautiful company.  KC CO.  specializing in handmade leather products.

Please take a couple minutes to watch this video, then a couple more to visit their site to see Bo’s beautiful photography and the stunning leather work done by these gentleman. This video shows us a glimpse into these men’s vision and life, allowing us to see their dedication and passion. This is what craftwork is about.

I saw this movie today, it was… a lot to handle. From the first 15 minutes to the last 15, the movie takes you into the struggle of a pilot whose worst enemy is himself, a rough, horrible journey that  delves into substance abuse and how people cope with life, and their struggles.

It didn’t blow me away, but it left me a bit shaken. I suggest maybe seeing it for yourself.

Long live the Kings

Good lord. I think I found my new goal, I know I have been saying it for a while. Just the hint of such a beautiful adventure is enough to get me on the edge of my seat. I even pulled my dad in and showed him. He’s done it, ridden with “no direction”.  I want that. I really do.

I just watched this last night, and was pretty blown away by the soundtrack and overall sound work. It’s, in my opinion, a character completely and totally on its own. Check it out. Lena Dunham is a co-writer, and it shows. John and Olivia crackle when on screen.

Upcoming Films

I know some of you may be aware of my love of film, and the entire film watching experience whether it be in a big cinema, a small theatre or laying in bed or on the sofa. That being said, I hope to begin writing more about the movies I see, have seen and want to see. In fact, I would love to dissect them the way I used to do in my theory classes.

Here are some trailers that have peaked my interest, and I hope maybe yours as well.

Nobody Walks

  • John Krasinski, Olivia Thirlby propel this trailer, and probably this movie. What I am also excited about is that the co-writers are Ry Russo-Young and our favorite girl Lena Dunham. Her ability to write authentic dialogue makes me very excited to see this.

Skyfall

  • Bond. The man men want to be, and the man woman want. Ben Whishaw, Javier Bardem, Daniel Craig… men in well fitting suits? Action, sex appeal, steamy shower/shaving scenes? As you can tell my verbal ability is stunted because of my love for all things Bond.

For a Good Time, Call…

  • If you didn’t already love/hate Lauren Anne Miller for being married to Seth Rogen, you are going to hate her for writing this seemingly hilarious screenplay, as well as co-starring in it. The girl you hate becomes your best friend and you operate a phone sex line? All the while MIA’s Bad Girls is your soundtrack. In a new era of chick flicks this looks divinely funny.

This Must Be the Place

  • Sean Penn as a former goth rock star, stuns you with his quiet intensity. The trailer genuinely makes you interested in his journey to exact the revenge his father was seeking with dark humor and the bizarre.

Neighboring Sounds

  • If the trailer is any indication, then this film will suck you in to a ‘palpable sense of unease’ and suspense.

Silver Linings Playbook

  • The chemistry between Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper as two fucked up people who find each other to become better with life and all it’s challenges, is what makes me want to see this. Even if it feels like it may just be a fell good movie.

Chicken With Plums

  • Not only the plot, but the cinematography is absolutely stunning. Like a story book, a graphic novel and a film rolled into one the trailer grips you. The tale of a violinist who’s violin is broken and his journey in life and his mind after his passion is lost.

Anna Karenina

  • Joe Wright, one of my favorite directors reunites with Kiera Knightly to create the film adaptation of one of the greatest love stories in literature. The costumery, the shots, the colors and moments captured. I can already tell it will be a film that captures my senses entirely, even my heart.

This Is 40

  • Marriage. Children. Reality but a little bit more hilarious. Plus if you don’t see the newest Judd Apatow movie how are you supposed to quote it with your friends?

For Ellen

  • Growing up and raising a kid at the same time, Paul Dano, Jon Heder, Jena Malone and an adorable 6 year old. Struggling with lost dreams, a divorce and a barren landscape Joby Taylor connects with a daughter he never knew before he loses all connection.
  • When the big boys of crime search out the rookies of crime who get themselves messed up in the mob. Brad Pitt with a pompadour, a sawed of shotgun, and the avoidance of feelings.

Little White Lies

  • A beautiful depiction of a group of individuals who make up a friend group, the white lies they tell each other and a catalyst to many truths. Marion Cotillard, Jean Dujardin and Francois Cluzet.

Like Crazy (by ClevverMovies)

Another sappy romance movie. I really like Anton Yelchin.
